Youth jailed for rape attempt

A mobile court sentenced a youth to one year's imprisonment for attempting to rape a school student of Class-VIII on Thursday evening.

Police said Abdur Rahim, 27, of Nimnagar in Panchagarh municipality area, entered her house in the afternoon when she was alone. Hearing her scream, neighbours rescued the girl and handed Rahim over to police after a beating.
