Youth crushed by train while taking selfie

A youth was crushed under a train in the capital yesterday afternoon while trying to take a selfie.

The deceased was identified as Sadiqul Islam, 24. He used to live in Jafrabad area of Rayerbazar.

Hailing from Nababganj upazila of Dhaka, Sadiqul was working as a driver in the capital, said Robiullah, assistant sub-inspector of Dhaka Railway Police Station.

Quoting locals, he said the youth was trying to take a selfie on the rail tracks in the Kuril area and was hit by the Kamalapur-bound “Balaka Express” around 5:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot.
