Youth beheaded over ‘affair’ in Dhaka

Police detained a rickshaw puller who was carrying a headless body stuffed in a luggage in Basabo area of Dhaka today.

The law enforcers said in primary interrogation Rickshaw puller Oli Ullah, 35, confessed his involvement in the murder.

Oli admitted that he committed the crime along with a local, Alamin, who was also picked up later, said Sub-inspector Sulaiman Gazi of Sabujbagh Police Station.

The police officer also said the detainees claimed that they killed Irahim Khalil Sumon, 23, for having an affair with Alamin’s wife.

The head of the victim was found buried behind the rickshaw puller’s rented home in Wahab Colony area, said the SI.

Sumon was a worker of Alamin’s bakery in the area.

Oli Ullah was carrying a big luggage on his rickshaw through Ahmedbagh area around 6:00am.

Noticing that there was no passenger on the rickshaw, a couple of security guards stopped the three-wheeler and asked him about the luggage, said Md Noor Alam, an assistant police commissioner of Khilgaon zone.

While they were talking, locals noticed blood dripping from the luggage and opened it by force, he added.

Discovering the beheaded body, they called police.
