Urdu dept at DU gets donation

The family of late Dr Kaniz-e-Batul, an Urdu professor of Dhaka University, yesterday donated Tk 5 lakh to build a seminar library at the Urdu department after her name.
Sayed Asad Abbas, her younger brother, handed over the money to the department's chairperson, Dr Md Israfil, at the vice chancellor's office. Dr Kaniz was born in 1951 and died in 2015 in Dhaka. Her two books are “Nazrul in Urdu Literature” and “Atish-O-Gul”.
