UGC to accord reception to three national professors

The University Grants Commission (UGC) will accord reception to the three newly-appointed national professors: Professor Emeritus Dr. Rafiqul Islam, Professor Emeritus Dr. Anisuzzaman and Professor Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury.

UGC will arrange a ceremony at 3:00pm on July 9 at its conference room in this regard, according to a press release of UGC.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid is expected to be present as the chief guest at the programme.

Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the ministry of education, Sohrab Hossain will be present as special guest.

UGC Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan will preside over the reception ceremony, where UGC members and renowned educationists will be present.

Earlier on June 19, the government has appointed the noted educationists as national professors for a five year term.
