Two killed in road accidents

A police officer was killed as his motorcycle was hit by an auto-rickshaw in Rajshahi city yesterday while he was going to appear before a court as a witness of a case, reports our Rajshahi correspondent.

The dead was Chanchal Kumar Mondol, an assistant sub-inspector of Special Security and Protection Battalion in Dhaka.

Our Pirojpur correspondent reports, Abitro Halder alias Jitu, a six-year-old son of Shamiron Halder and Banani Roy, died instantly when a shallow engine-run three-wheeler ran him over while he was crossing the road in front of his house at Palpara in Pirojpur yesterday morning.
