Two jailed for 18 years in Ctg arms, explosives cases
A Chittagong court yesterday sentenced two persons to 18 years' imprisonment in two arms and explosives cases.
Omar Faruk and Md Sowkot were tried in absentia, said Public Prosecutor Jahangir Alam.
Sayeda Hosne Ara, a judge of Public Security (Jononirapotta) Tribunal, delivered the verdict, said the PP.
They were jailed for 10 years in one case and for eight years in the other, said the PP.
According to the prosecution, police arrested the duo with firearms and crude bombs in the city's Cinema Palace area on July 28, 2000.
