Trump's aide Curtis due in town today
US President Donald Trump's Deputy Assistant Lisa Curtis arrives in Dhaka today for a three-day official visit to discuss several issues including the Rohingya crisis.
Lisa, also senior director for South and Central Asia of the National Security Council in the White House, is likely to call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, Security Adviser to the Prime Minister Maj Gen (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique and Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque during her visit, diplomatic sources said.
She will also visit Cox's Bazar to see the Rohingya refugees, who fled ethnic cleansing in Myanmar.
Earlier, her visit to Dhaka on July last year was postponed citing "bad weather" in Washington.
