Triple-murder accused arrested in Bhairab

Shova Akter, an accused in killing a woman and her two daughters in Sidhhirganj of Narayanganj city, was arrested yesterday in Kishoreganj's Bhairab.

Shova,32, the second wife of Masud Dewan, is the final accused in the case to be arrested. Her cousin Sohel, and husband Masud Dewan were held earlier.

Police had recovered the body of Dewan's first wife Anjuri Akter on June 11 from a drum at Bhangarpol in Siddhirganj. On June 16, Eid day, the body of her 15-month old daugher Mahi was recovered from inside a sack, floating in a fish farm.  The body of the other child Mahida, 7, was recovered from the same fish firm on June 18. Her hands and legs were tied and she was put inside a bag.

Additional police super of Narayanganj Sharfuddin said the arrest was made acting on a tip-off and using information technology.

On Sunday afternoon, arrestee Sohel gave confessional statement to the court of Narayanganj Senior Judicial magistrate Ashek Imam. He narrated the killing in details in his statement. 

Police has taken the victim's husband Masud Dewan into remand for interrogation.
