Three killed in road crashes

Idris Ali, 45, son of Sultan Uddin of Jhenidah, was killed as a speedy bus of “Titas Paribahan” ran him over on Nobinagor-Chondra highway at Baroypara of Savar yesterday, reports our Savar correspondent.

Agitated locals blocked Nobinagor-Chondra highway for an hour demanding punishment for the bus driver.

Meanwhile, police recovered the body of Rana Rahman, 19, son of Mojibur Rahman of Modupur village in Thakurgon, from Dhaka-Archa highway at Hamayetpur. Police suspected that he died in road accident.

In Chittagong, motorcyclist Md Munna, 22, an automobile mechanic, of Hathazari upazila, was killed while his co-rider injured when an oil-laden lorry ran over the vehicle at CMB intersection in Chandgaon of Chittagong city.

Police seized the lorry but the driver fled.
