A mobile court yesterday sentenced three traders to one-year imprisonment in Barisal city for selling the banned fine-mesh gill net, known as "current jal".

Goutam Poddar, Ashotosh Poddar and Amit Kumar Saha alias Vutto were detained near Fariapatty area.

During a drive against catching and selling fish fries, the team also recovered such nets over 4,000 kilograms from different shops in Bazar Road area.
