Three IT company staff go missing

Three employees of an IT company in the capital have gone missing on June 3, said police.

Kamal Hossain, 21, Imam Hossain Rashed, 27, and Hasan Mahmud, 26, who are also friends, used to work at Telex Ltd on Road No-4 at Block-C in Banani.

Their families filed general diaries with Banani Police Station on June 3 and 4. Of the three, Kamal, who completed Dawra Hadith, is an imam and a business assistant at his office. Imam and Hasan completed master's in computer science after graduating from Brac University's electronics and electrical engineering department, police and families said.

Imam's younger brother Faisal Ahmed said his brother is pious but he was never involved in militancy.

Kamal's uncle Rashid, who claimed the same for his nephew, hoped that if any law enforcement agency picked them up they would be released soon.

Sub-inspectors Bazlur Rahman and Sohel Rana said they did not get any information about their involvement in militancy.

During a press conference at the media centre of Dhaka Metropolitan Police yesterday, Abdul Baten, joint commissioner of the Detective Branch of police, said they are investigating the incident and trying to find the missing people.
