Three fined for illegal dock, jetty

A mobile court of the Chittagong Port Authority yesterday fined several establishments on different charges.

The court fined Hazi Abdur Rahman Tk 1 lakh for running a dock at the left side of Karnaphuli Third Bridge area and making fishing boats without CPA's permission. It also directed Rahman to remove the dock within seven days.

The same court sealed off a jetty and its office, run by Jahangir Member and Abdus Sattar at Shikolbaha, and fined the two Tk 50,000 each. It also fined a lighter vessel, Sheikh Enterprise, Tk 20,000 for unloading goods at the unauthorised jetty.
