Six held including UP member in Ctg, Khagrachhari with guns

Police recovered six fire arms and arrested six in three separate drives in two districts yesterday and on Thursday.

Our Khagrachhari correspondent reports, police recovered two local made guns and arrested Kali Bondhu Tripura, a member of Khagrachhari sadar union parishad and his son Jatan Tripura, from Thalibari area on Thursday night.

A case was filled, confirmed said Anayat Hossaion, additional superintendent of Khagrachhari police.

In Chittagong, our staff correspondent reports, in Chandanaish upazila, police intercepted a Chittagong-bound passenger bus from Cox's Bazar recovered two light guns and a one-shooter-gun and arrested three, said Sub-Inspector Gazi Mainuddin of Chandanaish Police Station.

The arrestees were Kamal Hossain, 38, Syed Amin, 40, and Saiful Islam, 40, all hailing from Cox's Bazar.

In Fatikchhari upazila, police arrested Shahadat Hossain, 35, and recovered a foreign-made pistol during a raid in his house at Gajaria village, said Sub-Inspector Abdul Baten of Bhujpur Police Station.
