Sitakunda Jamaat ameer held

Police yesterday arrested a leader of Jammat-e-Islami from his residence in Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong in connection with subversive activities in the district last year.

The arrestee is Shafiqul Maola, 52, ameer of Sitakunda upazila Jamaat-e-Islami.

A total of 40 cases, including 21 in Sitakunda Police Station, were pending against him with different police stations in the district, police said.
