Singapore minister due today
Amid arrest and expulsion of several expatriate Bangladeshis from Singapore on militancy connection, Senior Minister of State of Ministry of Defence and Foreign Affairs Dr Mohamad Maliki will arrive in Dhaka today on a three-day visit to discuss security and militancy issues.
The Singaporean minister will hold talks with Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam and other high officials.
Sources said Maliki is likely to want to know about the steps taken against those who were repatriated from Singapore over alleged connection with extremism and terrorism.
Since December last year, the Singapore government has arrested 40 Bangladeshi migrant workers for their alleged involvement in radicalisation and terror financing.
