Seven-year-old girl raped in capital

A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man in the capital's Dakshin Khan on Tuesday.

The victim, daughter of a rickshaw-puller, resides in a tin-roofed building where the accused Mustafa, 50, works as a caretaker, said police.

Mustafa called the girl into a room in the building when her parents were away and raped her. Hearing her screams, other tenants rushed in and caught Mustafa but he later managed to flee, police added. A case was filed.
