Scorching heat likely on Pahela Baishakh
The weather outlook for celebration of Pahela Baishakh, Bangla New Year, this year is bleak with a forecast of scorching heat and “unbearable” humidity.
Mercury is expected to hit a maximum of 37 degrees celcius tomorrow, Rasheduzzaman, the duty forecast officer at Bangladesh Met office, told The Daily Star.
Chance of rain is very thin, but the humidity will be high. The weather will yeild a lot of sweat, which will be hard to dry up and result in discomforting experience – especially within a crowd.
Weather forecast says a moderate to mild heat wave is sweeping through Dhaka, Rajhsahi, Khulna, Tangail, Faridpur, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Barisal, Patuakhali & Khepupara and it may continue for some more days.
But the bright side is, Met office is expecting a much needed rain around Saturday.
For most of the last week, the maximum temperature in Dhaka stayed over 35 degrees. The last three days, mercury shot up to 36 and 37 degrees Celcius.
