Rohingya issue to be solved politically: AG
Attorney General Advocate Mahbubey Alam yesterday said the government will tackle and solve the Rohingya issue politically.
The attorney general urged all to come forward in the aid of the Rohingya and quoted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as saying that during desperate times, “if necessary, we will share our food with Rohingyas.”
He made the remarks while distributing new clothes to 110 women at his village home -- Mousa Mandra under Louhajang upazila in Munshiganj -- on the occasion of Durga Puja.
Addressing the members of local Hindu community, he said “Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony” and the government will ensure that it remains the same.
Deputy Attorney General Bishwajit Debnath, Md Masud Miah of the Supreme Court Bar Association and Konaksar Union Parishad Chairman Abul Kalam Azad accompanied the AG.
