'Robber' injured in Barisal police firing , another arrested

An alleged robber was injured as police opened fire on his gang at Kawnia in Barisal early yesterday. 

Md Jewel, 35, son of Nur Alam Mia of Mukundapur, is undergoing treatment at Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital under police custody.

Members of the Detective Branch of Barisal Metropolitan Police on information challenged the gang of some eight robbers when they went to rob the house of Babul Mia, a police constable of Dhaka range. Another robber Wasim was arrested too, said detectives.
