Three people including a police officer were killed and 16 others injured in road accidents in four districts yesterday.

In Sirajganj, a police officer was killed as a truck hit his motorcycle in Shattrikuti area of Solonga upazila.

The deceased Nurul Islam, 28, of Chardhul village was an assistant sub-inspector of Ishwardi Police Station, said Officer-in-charge of Solonga Police Station Mostafizur Rahman.

In Bogra, a school teacher was killed as a truck hit his motorcycle in Madla Chachaitara Bridge area of Shajahanpur upazila.

The deceased Shahidul Islam, 35, of Rangpur was an assistant teacher of English at Bagbari KM High School in Bogra.

In Tangail, a college teacher was killed as a truck rammed his motorcycle on Bangabandhu Bridge east connecting road in Kalihati upazila.

The deceased Selim Hossain, 30, of Tenguria village was a lecturer of Political Science at Lion Ferdous Alam College in Kalihati.

In Thakurgaon Sadar, at least 16 people were injured as a bus collided head-on with a truck on Thakurgaon-Dhaka highway in front of Thakurgaon BGB headquarters.
