Road crashes kill 7, hurt 5
Seven people were killed and five others injured in road accidents in four districts yesterday and Tuesday.
In Pabna, two people were killed and another was injured when a truck ran them over and fell into a roadside ditch as the driver lost control over the steering on Dhaka-Pabna highway in Modhupur area yesterday.
The deceased were Abdur Rahman, 50, and Mohidul Mustafa, 52, of Madhupur Dakkhin Para village.
In Chittagong city, an unidentified man, aged around, 55, was killed when a vehicle hit him while he was crossing the road in Pologround area early yesterday.
In Gazipur, Majharul Islam, 27, of Longair village was killed when a truck hit his bicycle on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway on Tuesday.
Meanwhile in Konabari of the district, an unidentified woman was killed when a bus ran her over in Polli Bidyut area.
In Gaibandha, Jahangir Alam, 30, of Dinajpur was killed and three others were injured when two trucks collided head-on at Bakchar on Bogra-Rangpur highway on Tuesday.
In Dinajpur, Mehdi Hasan, 27, of Rangpur was killed and his co-rider injured when a truck hit his motorcycle on Dinajpur-Saidpur highway near Shahpara village in Chirirbandar upazila yesterday.
