Road crashes kill 3
Three people were killed and two others injured in road accidents in four districts yesterday and on Friday.
In Jhalakathi, Rajan Sardar, 27, of Sangor was killed as he fell off the motorcycle he was riding after the vehicle collided head-on with a bicycle on Barisal-Khulna highway at Uttor Bargri of Rajapur on Friday night.
In Joypurhat, Zahrul Islam, 32, of Khanzanpur was killed when a three-wheeler skidded off the road and fell on a paddy field in Pathanpara area in Khetlal upazila on Friday evening.
In Dinajpur, two men were injured as a tractor hit their bicycle in front of Monimela Cinema Hall in Phulbari upazila yesterday.
In Mymensingh, a man who was injured with two others in a road accident in Gouripur upazila of the district on Friday evening, died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital yesterday.
The deceased was Akash Miah, 22, of Brahmanbaria. With Akash the death toll in the road crash rose to seven.
Six people, including a police constable, were killed earlier in the accident on Friday when a tuck rammed a human-hauler on Mymensingh-Kishoreganj road.
They are police constable Md Moniruzzaman, 30; Nurul Haque, 35, Anwar Hossain, 30, of Brahmanbaria, human-hauler driver Nurul Islam, 30, its owner Shahidul Islam, 35, of Kishoreganj and Shamsul Haque of Netrokona.
