Road crashes kill 3
Three people were killed and another was injured in road accidents in three districts yesterday and on Monday.
In the capital, a transport worker was killed as a lorry ran him over from behind while he was unloading goods in Anandabazar area near Dhaka University yesterday.
The deceased Suman Haoladar, 22, of Barisal, was a resident of Sutrapur in the capital.
In Rajshahi, a schoolboy was killed and his friend injured as a Rajshahi University bus ran them over after an auto-rickshaw hit their motorcycle while they were overtaking the RU bus in Talaimari area on Monday night.
The deceased was Shimul, 15, of Mirzapur, and a student of Masjid Mission School.
In Chittagong, Lal Mia, 43, of Kurigram was killed as a covered-van hit him while he was crossing the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Madambibirhat area in Sitakunda upazila yesterday. Lal Mia used to work as a security guard in Confidence Cement factory in the upazila.
Police seized the van and detained its driver.
