Road crash kills two in capital

A woman and a three-year-old girl were killed while the mother of the child was injured as a covered van hit them at Jatrabari in the capital last night.

Rupali Akhter, 30, mother of the child, Chandi Akhter, said the two along with their landlady, aged around 50, were crossing the road in front of the Institute of Child and Mother Health when the incident occurred.

Rupali is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the two died, said officials at DMCH police camp.

The vehicle managed to flee, Jatrabari police said.
