Road crash kills one, hurts another

A pedestrian was killed when a bus ran him over as the driver was trying to overtake another bus in the capital's Shahbagh yesterday. The deceased, aged around 30, could not be unidentified, police said.

A woman -- Amena Begum, 50, -- was injured as the bus hit her. People beat up the bus driver Nabab Ali, 50, and helper Joynal Abedin, 30 and handed them over to police.
