Road accidents kill 6
At least 6 people were killed and 55 others injured in separate road accidents across the country yesterday.
In Mymensingh, Sub-inspector Mizanur Rahman Mister, 45, of Bahmanbaria Sadar Police Station, was killed and 10 others injured in a collision between a microbus and a truck on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway, police said.
The injured were admitted to different hospital.
In Dinajpur, garment worker Bilkis Akhter, 23, died at a local hospital after sustaining critical injuries when her husband's motorbike collided with a bicycle in Khansama upazila, police quoted locals as saying.
In another incident in Dinajpur, Md Foyzullah, 64, was killed on spot after being hit by a tractor trolley in Phulbari upazila on Wednesday, police said.
In Habiganj, college student Kapil, 23, Khokon, 23, and another unidentified youth were killed as a bus lost control and ran off the cliff in Nabiganj upazila, police said. The incident injured five others.
Also in Sylhet, 40 people were injured when a bus skidded off the cliff in Golapganj upazila, reports our correspondent.
One passenger alleged that the driver was talking on his mobile phone while driving.
The injured were taken to a local hospital.
