RMG worker's body found hanging

Police recovered the hanging body of a garment worker from a cotton warehouse near her house in Panchlaish area of Chittagong city yesterday.

Police and her in-laws suspect that she committed suicide over quarrel with her husband.

Lipi Akther alias Osna, 23, was last seen in front of their house while she was talking over the phone to her expatriate husband in the Maldives Jahirul Islam alias Joy Mahmud on Sunday night. In the morning, her in-laws launched a search as she was not found in her room and found her hanging from the ceiling of the warehouse, claimed the in-laws. If Lipi's relatives want they can file a case for provoking her to commit suicide, said Jahangir Alam, assistant commissioner of Panchlaish Circle of Chittagong Metropolitan Police.
