Prof Anowarul Islam dies

Anowarul Islam, former professor of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), died of old-age complications at Bangladesh Medical College Hospital on Friday. He was 80.

Anowarul, also a former VP of DMCH student council, achieved the country's first FCPS degree in medicine in 1968.

He was buried in his hometown in Sherpur yesterday after his second namaz-e-janaza.

His qulkhwani will be held at his residence 'Nirjhar' in Sherpur today.
