2 held for printing unauthorized textbooks

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) members have arrested two people for allegedly printing textbooks for class XI-XII, not authorized by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NTCB).

Tipped off, a team of Rab-11 launched a drive at the office of “Bhai Bhai Book Binding” in Dhaka’s Sutrapur area this evening and arrested its owner M Nabi Khan, 35, for allegedly printing the unauthorized textbooks, a press release by the Rab said today.

The Rab team also arrested Haji Badsha Miah, manager of “Five Star Printing Press and Publication” for the same allegation after conducting another drive in the office of Dhaka’s Demra area today.

During the drive, the elite force team recovered a large number of fake textbooks of Bangla for class XI-XII from both the publications, the press release added.
