Polythene factory sealed off in Ctg

The Department of Environment (DoE) sealed off an unauthorised polythene bag manufacturing factory in Chittagong city yesterday morning.

A team, led by Assistant Director (AD) Sangjucta Dasgupta, also recovered 1.5 tonnes of banned polythene bags, below thickness of 55 micron, from the factory housed in a room of the residence of Md Kamal at Rajakhali in Chaktai.

Kamal was summoned to appear for a hearing on March 6, said the AD.
