PM slams Khaleda for complaining to guests
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday slammed BNP and its chairperson for what she said making a complaint to foreign guests that there is no democracy in the country.
"I doubt whether she [Khaleda Zia] can define democracy," Hasina said in her introductory speech at the Awami League (AL) national committee meeting at her official residence Gono Bhaban in the capital.
Hasina, also the AL chief, said it is very much regretful that those who had patronised and awarded the war criminals and killers of Bangabandhu are now giving sermons on democracy.
The premier said BNP had come to power illegally and curbed the voting power of people.
"Being rejected by people and having nowhere to go, BNP is now engaged in complaining to foreign guests ...," added Hasina.
She mentioned that people are now enjoying food security, their lifestyle is improving, their purchasing capacity is increasing and the country's infrastructures are developing due to the availability of their democratic rights.
