Pathology lab staff arrested for filming patient in toilet
A diagnostic centre employee was held allegedly for clandestinely videoing a female patient when she was collecting urine samples in a toilet of the centre in the capital's Dhanmondi yesterday.
Hasibur Rahman Suman, 27, of Chuadanga, had been serving the centre as telephone operator for last three years.
Sumon, who was sacked and handed over to Dhanmondi police after being held, videoed the woman with his mobile through a hole from another adjoining toilet when she was collecting urine for a pathology test according to her physician's advice, said police, quoting her.
The patient, aged around 28, went to Popular Diagnostic Centre around 7:00am with her mother and sister.
Seeing a hand with the phone, the woman started shouting and held it, Biplob Kumar Singha, assistant manager (customer Service) of the centre, told The Daily Star, quoting her.
As Suman rejected the allegation, she said there was a video clip in the phone, he added.
Sub-inspector of Dhanmondi Police Station Ripon Kumar Saha said they found a seven-second video, adding that it would be sent for verification.
A case was filed against Sumon under the Pornography Control Act-2012, he added.
