N'ganj PP gets death threat

Public Prosecutor (PP) of Narayanganj District Court SM Wazed Ali Khokan filed a general diary yesterday with Fatullah Model Police Station after getting death threat from unidentified persons.

The lawyer said he received a letter on Wednesday from one Abul Bashar of North Isdair area in Narayanganj.

The letter which addressed him sought the release of Rashedul Islam Rifat, currently held in custody in a narcotics case.

“Arrange for his immediate release or you and your court will be blown off,” the letter read.

It also said the family members of the lawyer will be killed, police said.

Manzur Quader, officer-in-charge of Fatullah Model Police Station, said "We are looking for the man who sent the letter and take actions once he is found."
