Throat-slit body of woman found in Dhaka

Police recovered the body of a woman with her throat slit from her residence in Boro Bhanga area of Demra this afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Maksuda Begum, 50, an expatriate in Kuwait who used to visit Bangladesh frequently, Mohammad Selim, officer-in-charge (OC) of Demra Police Station, told The Daily Star.

On information that very bad odour was coming out of a locked flat in a two-storey building on Nantu Bhuiyan road in the area, police broke into the flat and found the body around 5:00pm, the OC said.

The body was sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College morgue for autopsy.
