'Want to reorganise BNP'
There were no BNP leaders or activists with him. He was the only man at the programme held at a five star hotel in Dhaka, claiming that he is an “initiator of BNP's reorganisation.”
The man, Kamrul Hasan Nasim, slammed the BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and the party's acting chair Tarique Rahman.
Nasim, who had earlier identified himself as chief of “Ashol BNP” [real BNP], yesterday said he wants BNP to run in line with the ideals of the party's founder Ziaur Rahman and Moshiur Rahman Jadu Mia.
Nasim read an eight-page written statement covering a wide range of areas including constitution, politics, economy and foreign policy -- saying that he has researched on the areas.
In reply to a query, a visibly irritated Nasim said that his aim is not to split BNP; rather he wants to reorganise the party.
In 2016, people under the banner of “Ashol BNP” made several attempt to occupy the Nayapaltan central office of BNP. Every time they were chased away by BNP men.
Identifying himself as a “professional journalist”, Nasim said he is the editor-in-chief of an online news portal, jononeta.net, and chief editor of Kriralok, a sports magazine.
