ULAB hosts training on leadership skills
The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), in association with the World Academy for the Future of Women (WAFW), held a closing ceremony to mark completion of a year-long training programme on leadership skills by the graduates of 2018-19 batch at ULAB auditorium in Dhanmondi yesterday.
While adhering to the 17 SDG goals, students went through a rigorous training programme consisting of eight modules under the tutelage of life coaches from the US, Germany, China and the Netherlands, says a press release.
Education Minister Dipu Moni attended the event as the chief guest and Dutch Ambassador to Bangladesh Harry Verweij as the special guest.
Dipu Moni said, “Whenever we talk about our planet, whenever we talk about development, and even whenever we talk about a meaningful life, women play a vital role in every sphere.”
Taheerah Haq, member, ULAB board of trustees; lawmaker Kazi Nabil Ahmed, another member of the board; Maaike Van Vliet, WAFW facilitator and former diplomat; and Prof Shamsad Mortuza, pro-vice chancellor of ULAB, also spoke at the ceremony.
Prof HM Jahirul Haque, vice chancellor of the university; and Prof Imran Rahman, special adviser to the ULAB board of trustees, handed over crests to Education Minister Dipu Moni and Dutch Ambassador Harry Verweij respectively.
Guests and representatives from RedOrange Media and Communication, Amal Foundation, UNFPA ambassadors and British High Commission executives were also present at the ceremony.
