Two killed in road accidents

Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in Khulna and Chattogram yesterday.

Kishor Kumar Paul, 53, a teacher of Botany department in Khulna BL College, was killed on spot when a truck hit him on the Khulna-Jashore highway yesterday, reports our correspondent.

Md Monirul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Phultala Police Station said Kishore was crossing the road in front of Damodar Primary School. Police recovered the body and sent it to a local hospital for autopsy.

In Chattogram, biker Dipak Dutta, 40, died on spot after losing control of his vehicle and colliding with a truck in Sitakunda upazila on Dhaka-Chattogram highway, said Inspector Md Abu Abdullah of highway police.

The crash also injured Dipak's co-rider, Abu said, adding that he was admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. His identity could not be confirmed.
