Two killed and six injured in road accidents
Two people were killed and six were injured in road accidents in two districts in the last two days, according to our correspondents.
In Natore, a farmer was killed and four others were injured after a pick-up van hit their rickshaw-van from behind at Ahmedpur area on Natore-Dhaka highway in Baraigramupazila yesterday.
The deceased is Dewan Ali, 37, from Aurail village in NatoreSadarupazila.
Police said after the accident, locals rushed the injured to NatoreSadar Hospital where Dewan Ali succumbed to his injuries. Police seized the pick-up van but the driver and his helper managed to flee.
In Rajbari, a youth died and two others were injured when a motorbike rider lost control of his vehicle and fell into a roadside ditchat Khanka Sharif area on Dhaka-Khulna Highway inSadarupazila on Sunday.
The deceased isImrulMollah, 22, fromBoroypara village of the same upazila.
Quoting locals,police said thatafter the accident, the rider and the two passengers were seriously injured. They were taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital,and the on-duty doctor shifted Imrul to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.He later died on the way to Dhaka at around 6pm on Sunday.
