Traffic lawbreakers now can pay fines using bank cards

The traffic lawbreakers from now will be able to pay fines by using their debit or credit cards on the spot.   

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today introduced the system in a bid to bring transparency and discipline in the process of collecting fines from the vehicle owners and passers-by breaking traffic rules.

“We had a dream to digitalise the traffic activities,” DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said this after inaugurating the system at Kakrail intersection in Dhaka this noon.

From now, there will be no scope to go missing of the seized documents, the DMP commissioner said.

The lawmen realise wrecking fine as cash in the city area but from now the wrecking and prosecution fine will not be collected in cash, Asaduzzaman said.   

“We want your (city dwellers) help as we are working to save time and to ensure hassle-free life. As a citizen, you should uphold the traffic rules for smooth trafficking,” he said.
