Trader rescued 11 days after 'kidnap'
Police rescued a trader in Tangail on Friday evening, 11 days after he was allegedly kidnapped from Savar.
Law enforcers also arrested three people from the spot.
In a press conference yesterday at Ashulia Police Station, Inspector (investigation) Javed Masud said the rescued Idris Ali, is a land trader in Ashulia's Zirani area. He was acquainted with local trader Razu Talukder.
On March 25, nine people -- including the arrestees and Razu -- took him away, saying they would go for a visit to Sylhet, he said.
They confined Idris to a house in Pahartoli in Tangail and demanded Tk 50 lakh as ransom from his family over phone on March 31, the inspector said.
The family filed a general diary the following day, leading the law enforcers to track them down, he said.
Idris filed a case against the nine people, hours after the rescue, he said.
