The pipeline of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd which has been leaking gas under the river Turag since Sunday is yet to be fixed.

Shirazul Islam, manager of the gas supplying company's Savar office, said a trawler on Sunday hit the pipeline under the river in Savar.

The line supplies gas to about 30,000 households in Bank Town, Rajfulbaria and Karnapara of Savar, he said, adding that the leakage has led to a gas crisis in those areas.  

Shirazul said experts are working nonstop to repair the pipeline but the task is rather difficult as the line is under water.

He hoped that the leakage would be repaired by today.
