Three-wheeler driver stabbed dead in Ctg
A three-wheeler driver died early yesterday, several hours after he and his friend were stabbed allegedly by a youth following an altercation over hiring his vehicle in Chattogram city's Halishahar area.
Mohammad Sagor (18), driver of a three-wheeler locally known as "tom tom", succumbed to his injuries at Chattogram Medical College Hospital, said police.
Sagor's friend named Raju (18) was undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
The altercation took place between Sagor and a local youth named Fahad in Aziz Mia Masjid area of Tiger Mor at Madham Halishahar on Friday evening.
Fahad apparently wanted to hire his vehicle to go somewhere and the driver did not agree with that, said Bandar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sukanto Chawkrabarty.
At that time, locals around them settled the matter, the OC quoted witnesses as saying.
But over the same issue, Sagor, Raju and several others brawled with Fahad when they found him in the area at night, said the OC.
During the scuffle, Fahad knifed them desperately in different parts of their bodies leaving them injured, said the police officer.
Sagor died at CMCH after he was taken therearound 12am yesterday, he said.
The OC said they are trying to arrest Fahad. Police were investigating how he already had a knife during the incident and whether there was previous enmity between Fahad and Sagor.
The body was sent to CMC morgue for autopsy. Filing of a case was underway last evening.
