Three killed, six injured in road accidents
Three people were killed six injured in road accidents in three districts during the last two days, according to reports from our correspondents.
In Savar, a woman was killed and five people were injured when a minibus carrying them fell into a ditch beside Dhaka-Aricha highway in Boliapur area of Savar early yesterday.
Police said the accident happened as the driver lost his control over the vehicle, said AFM Sayeed, officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station.
Amena Akhter Himu, 27, a junior accounts officer of a furniture factory in Zirani area of Ashulia, was declared dead at Enam Medical College Hospital.
The injured were undergoing treatment at the hospital.
In Dinajpur, a youth was killed after a pickup hit his bicycle from behind on the Panchagarh-Rangpur highway in Rampur Bazar area of Kaharol upazila yesterday, said police.
Sakib Islam, 21, from Dhipikura village in the upazila, died on the spot.
In Jashore, a motorcyclists was killed and another injured as a human haulier and the bike collided head-on on Pulerhat-Rajganj road at Rajganj Bazar in Manirampur upazila on Friday night, said police.
Apurba Mallick, 27, was declared dead at Jashore General Hospital. The injured -- Dip Biswas, 26, from the town’s Bijpara area -- were undergoing treatment at the hospital.
