Three killed in road, train accidents
At least three people were killed in road and train accidents in three districts yesterday, report our correspondents.
In Dinajpur town, Rakib Hossain (25) was killed as a truck ran him over when he fell off his motorbike after colliding with a roadside log in Housing Mor area.
The accident left him dead on the spot. Police seized the truck, but its driver and helper fled.
In Panchagarh, Bimal Chandra Roy (22) was killed after a tractor hit the battery-run auto-rickshaw carrying him at Laxmirhat village of Debiganj upazila.
Police said the accident occurred around 6pm, leaving Bimal dead on the spot. On information, law enforcers recovered the body, seized the tractor and detained its driver. A case was filed with the police station in this connection.
MAN DIES IN TRAIN ACCIDENT
A youth was killed under a train near Dewanhat footbridge in Chattogram around noon. Belal Hossain (26) was a student of political science at Chattogram City College, said police. On information, the law enforcers recovered the body lying beside the rail track and sent it to Chittagong Medical College for autopsy.
