Three killed in road accidents
Three persons were killed in separate road accidents across three districts yesterday.
In Manikganj, an unidentified woman was killed after a truck ran her over at Dhulondi on Dhaka-Aricha Highway under Ghior upazila, reports our correspondent.
Locals rushed her to Shibalaya Upazila Health Complex, where she was declared dead on arrival, said Sub-inspector Amir Hossain of Barangail Highway Police Outpost.
No one was arrested in this connection.
In another incident in Faridpur, jute trader Abu Sayed Mollah, 60, hailing from Folia village under Alfadanga upazila, was killed when a microbus hit him near Sosrail bazar area under Boalmari Upazila around 3:15pm, police said.
Officer-in-Charge of Boalmari Police Station AKM Shamim Hasan said he succumbed to his injuries at Alfadanga Upazila Health Complex.
Locals caught the microbus driver and handed them over to police, the OC added.
Meanwhile in Chattogram, Rahim Uddin, 38 was killed and two others -- Shuvo,17, and Badsha Mia, 40, were injured -- when a bus of Shamoli Paribahan rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Patiya Bypass Road beside Chattogram-Cox's Bazar Highway, reports our correspondent.
Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) Alauddin Talukdar of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) Police Outpost said Rahim was declared dead on arrival, while the two others were admitted at the hospital.
