Team Olik to join NASA’s global programme in 2020
Team Olik joined NASA Space Apps Challenge Global Programme in Florida via videoconference, said a press release of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS).
The programme was organised at Kennedy Space Center. Team Olik presented their project through video, while other teams from Philippines, Canada, Spain, Australia, and Argentina were present.
NASA high-ups joined the programme as well. They said, “It is very unfortunate that Team Olik could not attend the felicitation programme this year. However, they are invited to attend next year.”
A video speech by ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak was also shown at the event.
The Bangladesh team spoke with Caley Burke, an aerospace engineer in NASA. They discussed Bangladesh’s prospects in rocket science, and its opportunities to collaborate with NASA.
Andrew Denio, information technology specialist at NASA, talked to the winning teams about how they can avail jobs and internships at the organisation.
Bangladeshi officials Didarul Alam and Ariful Hasan discussed how this hack-a-thon can be made more fruitful for participating countries in future.
