Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Mahbub-Ul-Alam Hanif yesterday claimed that the violence in the country, centring the forthcoming polls, is the result of conspiracy by BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman from London.
“Tarique Rahman is hatching conspiracy to foil the election from London through secret murders and sabotage throughout the country… As a result, two Jubo League leaders lost their lives on the 1st day of symbol allocation,” he said.
Hanif made the remarks while speaking to journalists yesterday morning, after paying tribute to the martyrs at the Kushtia Collectorate premises on the occasion of Victory Day.
He described Awami League as a political party of the masses. BNP destroyed the country when they were in power, he said, adding that the party is trying to rig the election.
District Awami League President Sadar Uddin Khan, Joint General Secretary Engineer Farooq-uz Zaman, organising secretary Mehedi Hasan and other AL leaders were present on the occasion.
