Sust testing centre becomes fully automated
Centre for Research, Testing and Consultancy (CRTC) of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) upgraded its commercial services to automated lab management system.
CRTC, under the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), has been offering commercial services for water, air, soil, and transportation tests for construction since 2004.
These tests will be completely automated from now – anyone can order a specific task, pay for it, and receive the report online, said Prof Imran Kabir of CRTC.
He said, “Many people create fake reports of these tests but we are trying to stop them as these can prove to be dangerous if forged. From now on, anyone can check the test result online with the test number or QR code attached with the report.”
The professor said, “Apart from the basic tests, CRTC will also provide all building material tests for constructing roads and bridges.”
The service was inaugurated by the university’s Vice Chancellor Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed on July 25, and CRTC held a press conference on Thursday at the university.
