Suspected human trafficker arrested from train
Chattogram railway police arrested a man and rescued three Rohingya persons from a Dhaka bound train early yesterday.
The arrestee was identified as Abul Hossain, 22, hailing from Pashchim Para at Satkania upazila of Chattogram, said Mostafiz Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge of Chattogram Railway Police Station.
The three rescued persons are Md Enamullah, Suriya Begum, and her daughter Shaheda Akhter, -- all registered with Kutupalong Rohingya camp in Ukhiya of Cox’s Bazar, police said.
Tipped off, railway police conducted a drive and arrested Enamullah from the train around 1:30am, said the OC, claiming that the arrestee was taking the Rohingyas to Dhaka promising to send them to Middle East.
A case was filed with railway police station in this connection.
